Please bring all supplies to first class.
4 graphite drawing pencils: F, 2B, 3B, 4B (Derrwent is the recommended brand, although any good drawing pencils will work fine.)
1 drawing pad: 14 x 17 Canson (preferred) or Strathmore brand, white drawing pad (not sketch pad); 80-lb weight preferred.
1 eraser: Design brand Kneaded Rubber Eraser
1 small roll drafting tape (the kind that easily peels off)
1 drawing board: Approx. 16 x 20 or similar size. (Just needs to be slightly larger than your drawing pad.) You can either get this at an art supply store (flat brown board, usually with clips at the top and a handle), or you can get a sheet of 2 x 2 (1/8 thick) Tempered Hardboard at Home Depot and have them trim it to size (only a couple of dollars).
Recommended art supply stores:
Binders, Dick Blick or Pearl (craft/hobby stores such as Michaels dont always have all of the supplies, especially the specified pencils)
NOTE: Before you open up and try out your newly purchased supplies, please be aware that occasionally classes are cancelled if not enough students enroll. If you think you'd want to return your supplies if the class gets cancelled, you'll need to hold onto your receipt and leave any packaging unopened. (Of course please also refer to the return policy of the store where you purchased the supplies.) As the start date of your first class approaches, you can always check in with the art center to confirm if your class's enrollment has met the minimum number of students required. And if it has, by all means, rip open those supplies and give 'em a whirl before your class begins!
